Ahead of second Test, Babar Azam says team ‘morale is quite high’

Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan Cricket team, praised the team's efforts in the first Test match in Galle, Sri Lanka, in a video published by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday.

On Sunday, July 24, the team will face Sri Lanka in its second Test match.

Azam said that success always boosts the team's morale and gives them more self-assurance as they get ready for the next game. We want to achieve something that no one has, and we're doing it in challenging playing circumstances, which is a great feat, he said.

In the next second Test, the playing eleven will include Nauman Ali, who has taken Afridi's place in the squad, and two fast bowlers.

The 27-year-old emphasised the importance for players to take much-needed pauses in-between games, especially those that involve intense pressure, and said that the team would once again be without Shaheen Afridi's participation in the upcoming game.

"Players must prioritise maintaining their physical and emotional well-being. Therefore, taking breaks allows us to unwind and cope with the exhaustion of playing back-to-back matches, he continued.
