Grand negotiations between the government and the opposition are anticipated as the establishment considers "soft involvement"

ISLAMABAD: General elections are anticipated to take place in October, and the establishment may attempt a "soft intervention" when government and opposition negotiations get underway.

Following the Punjab by-elections on July 17, the political unrest in the nation has worsened, which has also had a negative effect on the economy.

In light of the current political and economic chaos, sources claim that the establishment is considering, as in the past, persuading politicians to engage in dialogue. Politicians, however, will have the last say in this improbable proposition.

Following an unconditional intervention offered by the establishment to the government and opposition, talks between the parties are anticipated to start soon, according to sources.

Additionally, it has been stated that during PTI leader Imran Khan's Islamabad March, the establishment persuaded politicians to engage in negotiations, but regrettably they did not produce fruitful outcomes.

The press conference held by PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry, who emphasised that politicians should be permitted to practise politics, is significant in this regard.

"Unlike in the past, people should not be coerced into participating in elections or being pushed here and there."
